Release notes.

We build eZacto for the engagements we actually run. When one of them will not fit the software, that is the next thing we fix.

Chrome extensionv0.1.0Milestone

eZacto for Chrome on the Chrome Web Store

Track time without leaving the browser: a free extension with a timer, quick duration logging and your week at a glance.

  • Start and stop a timer from the toolbar, with a running badge
  • Log a duration and see your week strip
  • Track this page: start a timer for what you are looking at
  • Idle detection so a forgotten timer does not run all night

Web app

Accounting sync, reminder controls and a new navigation

QuickBooks and BILL pick up invoices they already hold, reminders can be switched off per invoice, and the navigation menu and command bar have a new look.

  • QuickBooks and BILL adopt invoices that already exist on their side instead of duplicating them
  • BILL payments reconcile hourly, and the invoice email carries the BILL payment link
  • Turn payment reminders off for a single invoice; a new default reaches open invoices
  • API tokens are issued with an expiry, and the value is shown where you are looking
  • Settings pages use most of a wide window
  • Restyled navigation menu and command bar

Integration setup guides

ezacto.dev now has setup guides for QuickBooks, BILL and Wise, and lists eZacto for Chrome on its home page.

  • Step-by-step guides for QuickBooks, BILL and Wise
  • eZacto for Chrome listed on the ezacto.dev home page

Web app

QuickBooks payment sync and reminders that send

Payments recorded in eZacto mirror onto the matching QuickBooks invoice, and scheduled payment reminders are now actually sent.

  • A payment recorded here is mirrored to QuickBooks
  • Invoice detail shows QuickBooks sync state with a Sync to QuickBooks button
  • Payment reminders go out on schedule
  • Settings shows one section at a time, on a wider page, with your own text size
  • Mark paid sits in the invoice header with Print, Edit and Send
  • Timer fixes: rows start on today, never on a locked week
  • Timezone pickers are proper selects, with UTC kept as a choice

iOSv1.0.0Milestone

iOS app submitted to the App Store

The iOS app was submitted for App Store review. It is not yet available on the App Store; testers can use it through TestFlight.

  • Same Free timer and Pro business features as the Android app

Androidv1.0.0

Sign in with Apple, and an About screen

The mobile app adds Sign in with Apple and an About screen that tells the story of who makes eZacto.

  • Sign in with Apple
  • About screen

  • The selected tab follows the brand colour

Web app

Sign in with Apple, stronger sign-in, and off-site backups

Sign in with Apple joins the sign-in options, operators choose which sign-in methods an instance offers, and backups now capture everything and keep an encrypted copy off-site.

  • Sign in with Apple
  • A setting for which sign-in methods an instance offers
  • Security hardening across sign-in, the client portal and first-run setup
  • Operators can close first-run signup once an instance is set up
  • Nightly full SQL dump of every table, with an encrypted copy stored outside Cloudflare
  • A personal timezone that cannot be used falls back to the organization's

Web appMilestone

eZacto launches

eZacto goes public: the time tracking and invoicing app our studio runs on, open source and free to run yourself, with a public demo and signups for a hosted version.

  • Open source under the AGPL v3, to run on Cloudflare Workers or one container
  • A public demo at ezacto.io with invented data, rebuilt every night
  • Signups for a hosted eZacto at ezacto.com
  • Dated release notes, with a write-up of banded engagements on launch day
