Account and data deletion
Deleting your account, and what goes with it.
This page explains how to have your eZacto account, and the data held
against it, deleted. It covers the eZacto
mobile app (com.ezacto.app on Google
Play, eZacto on the App Store). What the app handles
in the first place is set out in the
app privacy policy.
Where your account actually lives
eZacto is a client for an eZacto instance that you or your organization operate. Your account and your business records live on that instance, not on a server we run. That shapes who can delete what, so there are two routes below: pick the one that matches how you got your account.
If your organization runs the instance
Your administrator owns the account and can delete it. Ask them to remove your user, and the account and the records tied to it go with it under your organization's own retention policy. We have no access to that instance and cannot delete anything on it for you.
If you want us to delete what we hold
Separately from any instance, we hold support tickets you have sent us and, where crash reporting is enabled in your build, crash diagnostics. To have those deleted, send a request one of two ways:
- In the app, open More โ Contact support and send a message asking for account and data deletion.
- Or email support@ezacto.com from the address you used in the app, with "Delete my account and data" as the subject.
Tell us the email address your account or support tickets are under. We will confirm the request from that address before deleting anything, so that nobody else can delete your data by asking.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted:
- Your support tickets and the reply address attached to them.
- Crash and error diagnostics associated with your installation.
- Your user record on any instance we operate on your behalf, together with the time entries, projects, and invoices belonging to it.
Kept, and why:
- Records we are required to keep by law, chiefly invoices and other accounting records, for the statutory retention period. These are kept only for that purpose and are not used for anything else.
- Data on an instance your organization operates, which is theirs to delete, not ours.
- Subscription and payment records held by Apple or Google, which are governed by their policies. Cancelling a subscription is done in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
How long it takes
We acknowledge a deletion request within 5 business days and complete it within 30 days. Backups holding a copy are rotated out within 90 days, after which no copy remains outside the legally required records named above.
Removing the app
Signing out clears the stored token and the cached records from your device; deleting the app removes them along with it. Neither deletes anything held on your instance, so do the steps above as well if deletion is what you want.
